Its not really my thing, The Westbury. Its just a little too contrived in a "its just been cleaned up” way. The punters are generally 20 and 30 somethings wishing they were in Hoxton but don't have the time to travel half way across London, though they have the cash. It gets really packed at the weekend with the various DJ nights but for me just give me a band, dodgy toilets and a no fills attitude please.

I have lived in Kilburn for 10 years. The venue now known as the Westbury, used to b a run down pub where even chronic alcoholics would not set foot in . The well deserved reputation of the venue exploded in style; when a few months back, a well publicised stabbing occurred and the old venue was finally closed down to give place to guess what, the pretentious Westbury! I had never entered the pub and was curious about the dj set they are offering for New Years Eve. Yesterday, with my most open minded attitude ever, I went in the Westbury to be confronted by the noveau riche atmosphere. Chandeliers, tea candles and a most hyperactive barman. not knowing the pub, and being aware from before, there was a first floor where bunk bed rooms with communal showers where rented on a daily basis, for a tenner, I asked the barman " is this the venue for the new year's eve d.j set ?" To which came his extremely witty reply of " no, we're thinking at having it up the road at McDonalds"I was extremely indignated at the sarcasm, after all I was a potential customer, with many acquaintances, that regularly go out in kilburn high road. I spoke to the manager and complained about the treatment I got from the barman. The manager was wide eyed and not at all helpful. let's just say, the venue might have changed and the pretentious chandeliers give it a certain atmosphere but, the service is atrocious.I will contact them directly and make a complaint but, will sure be spreading the word between my friends and strangers alike.

Wow this place is just buzzing with style. The deco is trendy and so are the people. Nice music to chill out at the weekend, you can feel like you are having a party at home. Love it

Nice bar!! Good prices, lots of space, lovely decor but the best thing is a top notch Dj line up and cheap entry prices. I recommend it!!

After a drudgery week at work, a dishevelled individual (yes, I am referring to myself) trots in to The Westbury.Upon entrance one could easily mistake it for Elton Johns front room- flamboyant but distastefully appealing. What would you like Madam? springs the bar man, looking bewildered but content at the fact that despite my botched up exterior, I still have a title and one of grace too-bonus!As the staff manoeuvres with enthusiasm whilst gabbling to served punters, I am asked by their duly bar staff if I require assistance- not once but thrice, as oppose to my usual bane of being 5ft nothing and ejecting myself as a human cannonball to grapple attention. But despite their alertness for dehydrated visitors the drought period does sadly loom over cocktail orders unfortunately their blender of drinks can be a heckler for time and a misery for the parched.Nevertheless, it didnt deter me from being completely enamoured by the pubs gnarly dcor flagrant chandeliers, 70s print wallpaper and retro artefacts are at the belly of The Westbury. Not to forget the upholstered seats and couches that lay in bold leopard prints in the ladies loo (like women need anymore reason to putter away in the toilets). Divine in finesse and appearance, The Westbury also offers a dining menu, clear cut and simple but alluringly tasty, especially their veggie spring rolls. With pool tables layered within the pub and a credible DJ line up, it is justifiable to being a goose bury at The Westbury.
